The four Saskatoon Lions Clubs conducted a Mega Cash Draw recently and presented a cheque for $ 20,000.00 to the Saskatoon Zoo Foundation towards the a financial commitment of $100,000.00 to assist in building the Lions Flight Rehabilitation and Conservation Centre at the Saskatoon Zoo.
Centennial Lions Club is providing the Chairperson for the 68th Annual Christmas Dinner for the sight handicapped clients of the Saskatoon Branch of the C.N.I.B. This annual event is co-sponsored by all four Saskatoon Lions Clubs. Traditionally, 150 clients accompanied by their escorts attend this function. The Lions also provide an entertainment program as well as a visit from Santa with a "goodie bag" for each client.
Our Service Projects include:Annual Christmas Dinner for the Blind, Salvation Army annual Christmas Kettle Program, Annual White Cane cribbage tournament,Collecting of used eyeglasses for distribution to Third World Countries, Hosting of an annual Lions Foundation of Canada "Walk for Dog Guides", and supporting the fund raising activities of the Canadian National Institute for the Blind ( North Saskatchewan Division).
We also provide financial support to; Annual Christmas Dinner for the Blind, Saskatoon Lions Band, Saskatoon Lions Speed Skating Club, C.N.I.B.(Nor Sask. Div.),Canadian Diabetes Association, Saskatchewan Lions Eye Bank, White Cane Club recreational activities, Western Canada Blind Curling Assoc., District 5 CN Sight & Service Foundation, Lions Quest Program, L.C.I.F., Lions Service Foundation of Saskatoon, Lions Skate Park, and provision of technical aids to sight handicapped students.
